Pecan Paradise

Tonight I went pecan picking on the side of a road with my co-workers. Then an older gentleman? cowboy? rancher? stopped his SUV and said, if you want more come to his house, a few blocks up. We got there and it was pecan paradise! I have so many I can’t bring them home in my suitcase or carry on, I think we all did him a favor while we acted like kids. I am mailing them to my parents because these pecans aren’t candied yet.  But I have to send this guy a postcard from Michigan as a thank you, and perhaps a Petoskey Stone!

So far, this part of Texas is nothing like I imagined it.  It is green, has rolling hills, and everything is so spread out!
